Josh Sason

Founder and CEO of Magna

Josh Sason is a serial entrepreneur, investor, artist and producer. Each aspect of his career is rooted in a desire to build and create — and he has developed his firm Magna as a vehicle for his efforts across the board. Today, Magna is widely recognized as one of the world’s foremost creative and tactical firms; building disruptive companies and investing across the worldwide public and private equity markets and the entertainment industry.

Having founded the firm out of his bedroom at just twenty two years old, Magna’s initial investment strategy, now known as Magna Equities, was established in the depths of the global recession when few others were investing in the public emerging growth markets. After experiencing initial success, he expanded the firm’s focus in 2012 to include private companies, opening a new division, Magna Ventures, dedicated to either founding or investing in disruptive companies from residential construction to customer experience to food. Stemming from his lifelong DNA as a creative and an artist, Joshua later announced a third division focused solely on strategic investments and partnerships within the entertainment industry, Magna Entertainment.

Today, Magna has several investment strategies and teams: Magna:equities, Magna:ventures, Magna:entertainment, Magna:realestate and has a burgeoning SPAC franchise, MI Aquisitions (NASD: MACQ). An impact-oriented organization to the core, in 2017 Josh founded and launched the firm’s philanthropic arm, the Magna:initiative. The Initiative currently has ongoing programs in place with Berklee ICE (Institute of Creative Entrepreneurship) and with Josh’s alma mater, Hofstra University.

As Founder and CEO, Josh continues to oversee Magna’s investment, operating and strategic activity across the business.

Josh graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinctive Honors from Hofstra University, earning a BBA in Entrepreneurship with a focus in Finance. He currently serves on Hofstra’s board for its Center for Entrepreneurship. Josh has also made it a point to give back with the success he’s achieved, and is an active donor to the Mid Island Y Jewish Community Center in Plainview, New York, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Jack Brewer Foundation, the Edeyo Foundation, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Defy Ventures.
